All UL-Listed GFCIs manufactured after January 1, 2003 must conform to new industry-wide Underwriters Laboratories (UL) 2003 GFCI requirements.

Important Reminder! Effective January 1, 2002, any new construction, remodel of BEDROOMS or service changes are required to include arc fault protection. This would include lighting circuit breakers and smoke detector circuit breakers in BEDROOMS. As always, consult with your local wiring inspector for local interpretation.
